SPENNYMOOR MURAL FESTIVAL

Building on the huge success of THE LAST TWO YEARS, we’re putting County Durham on the map as a place where artists can thrive.

Spennymoor Mural Festival is created by local people, in collaboration with the community. We host workshops, consultations and events around murals painted by local and international artists.

By making mural painting accessible to all, we allow those who wouldn’t usually think of themselves as artists to enter the world of art, and contribute to the brightening of where they live.

Spennymoor will always be the birthplace of our mural festival, but we are quickly growing into something portable and powerful…

In 2025 we’re bringing our expertise to Hartlepool Mural Festival, in partnership with Hartlepool Borough Council.

It’s a longer project, engaging with artists, schools, local businesses, public and private spaces, the Northern School of Art, and Hartlepool Art Gallery.

So far, we’ve painted 20 murals across Hartlepool, rooted in consultation, workshops, and the voices of local people.
